Modhera Sun temple was built by Raja Bhim Rao Solanki in 1026 AD near Mehsana, Gujrat, about 85 km from Ahmedabad. Its ancient architecture is second to none. The first ray of Sun used to fall on the forehead of its deity in the sanctum sanctorum. Now there is no deity in the temple. A token entry fee is charged here but photography is free. In January a dance festival is held here every year. ( मोढेरा का सूर्य मन्दिर सन १०२६ के आस पास सोलंकी रजा भीम राव ने बनवाया । इस मन्दिर की स्थापत्य कला अद्वितीय है । कहते हैं इस मन्दिर के गर्भ ग्रह में राखी मूर्ति पर सूर्य की पहली किरण पड़ती थी। अब इस मन्दिर के अन्दर कोई मूर्ति नहीं है। यह मन्दिर अहमदाबाद से करीब ८५ तथा मेहसाना से २५ किलो मीटर दूर है तथा यहाँ तक की सड़क बहुत बढ़िया है । यहाँ फोटोग्राफी फ्री है व प्रवेस पर कुछ टिकट है । यहाँ जनवरी में एक नृत्य का आयोजन होता है जो देखने लायक है।)
